  • Dear Carrie,

I’m having a hard time getting your tileset builder program to work. It’ll open and all, and display the message about not having a folder selected, then the program doesn’t run at all. What’s going on boss? I hope you get this fixed.

    • Hi Chris,

I’m going to guess you’re on Windows 10, as that’s the only place I’ve found that it does this. It works fine on a machine with a Visual Studio development environment, but behaves as you describe otherwise. I’m in the process of redoing the builder, with hopes that it will work correctly when it’s done. If it really hits the fan, I may need to start over in Java. I really don’t want to play the UI design game in Java.

  • Just recently got back into RPG Maker XP, game across you program on another site. Thank you for taking the time to make it, and all the time spent on RPG Maker resources. Just a question on the versions of the program. I have one that’s titled RPG Maker Tileset Builder in the about section its says v0.3 and the link the other site gave me program titled RPG Maker Tileset Bulider 2, I assumed that this is the latest version of the program but I thought I would ask to make sure as I can’t get it to work . I was having some weird warning messages on Firefox when looking through your site but other people in the forum had similar messages appear.

    • Hi there,

Regrettably, the program as it is has some curious issues with Windows 10 outside of an environment set up for Windows development – one I haven’t been able to figure out even with the helpful people at work and the not-so-helpful folks on the internet. As for the other site, I am not sure where that would be, or if it’s even the same software. What you find here is the most updated version. As for the warning messages here, I see them occasionally at work. I think it is in part because the software is not exactly something regularly-downloaded. It can’t be ads as I don’t keep those on the site. The only other possibility is there have been issues with other sites on the same webhost.

  • Hey mate, I tried downloading the program but my security said it’s dangerous. What should I do?

  • I’ve got an error pop up whenever I choose to use XP tileset,
I’ve already choose XP’s RTP folder in the resource handler, but it seems to stick to use VXAce’s path tofind the nonexistence file, so it keeps pop up every time I choose XP mode.

=============Following is the error message itself=========================
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

    For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    • Strange! I’m actually not sure what to tell you other than I am currently in the process of overhauling the entire application. An apparently-faulty backup caused a significant loss of code, which might be just as well, as this is enabling me to support RPG Maker MV, as well as do a change to how parts of it work.

I know it’s a shitty workaround, but you could try removing all your current configured folders and be sure to add XP first and then Ace, and if that doesn’t work, add only XP in, grab the tiles you need and then add Ace back in to polish off your set (assuming you’re combining them).
